Instructions

This is your chance for responsibility over your learning. Please take a few minutes to think back over the two weeks, and to consider the week ahead. Thank you.

There are 3 primary purposes for these self-evaluations. First, to give credit for students' participation in our work, especially our in-class work. I hope that doing so encourages student attendance and active participation. Second, to help students understand what active participation and teamwork may consist of. Third, prompt students to reflect on their role in the class.

In short, these self-evaluations are asking "Did you do the work this past week?"

There is a disconnect if a student says "I didn't talk to anyone, I didn't read, I didn't make it to class, and I deserve an 85%." A student's score should reflect their work, their participation. It should flow from their response to the prompts above.
